SPOTLIGHT: EQUINE VET PRACTICE IN CANADA

Burwash Equine will host this second annual student event showcasing the options available in a career in equine practice in Canada. There will be separate tracks with lectures and lab for veterinary students (first and second year students only) and RVT students.

SPOTLIGHT: EQUINE VET PRACTICE IN CANADA

Burwash Equine hosted the inaugural student event showcasing the options available in a career in equine practice in Canada. There were 60 students registered, representing every vet school in Canada and every tech school in Alberta and Saskatchewan. This event was sponsored by 14 industry partners and 27 veterinary practices across the country.

SEPTEMBER 21-22, 2023 - PODIATRY CE SEMINAR AND WETLABS

Special guest, Dr. Sammy Pittman, of Innovative Equine Podiatry in Collinsville, TX guided attendees through taking and interpreting radiographs for podiatry purposes, performing and interpreting venograms, and using this information to guide therapeutic shoeing of the foot.

SEPTEMBER 8-9, 2022 - TECHNIQUES IN LAMENESS DIAGNOSIS AND THERAPY

Organized by Zoetis Canada, this event featured lectures by Dr. Nick Kleider, DVM, DACVSMR as well as labs focusing on lameness workups and treatment with regenerative medicine.

APRIL 1-2, 2022 - ADVANCED EQUINE ANESTHESIOLOGY WITH DR. TANYA DUKE-NOVAKOVSKI, BVetMed MSc DVA DACVAA DECVAA

This advanced equine anesthesiology course was a continuation from the basics course held in September 2021.

Standing sedation, advanced monitoring techniques, lectures and an ultimate wet lab experience.

SEPTEMBER 24-25, 2021 - EQUINE ANESTHESIOLOGY WITH DR. LORI BIDWELL DVM, DACVAA

This equine anesthesiology basics course focused on intravenous and inhaled anesthesia techniques, with lectures and labs on live horses and cadavers.
