RVT APPOINTMENTS

Our Registered Veterinary Technologists (RVTs) have completed several years of post secondary training and have successfully passed the Veterinary Technicians National Examination in order to provide services at our clinic.

Similar to Registered Nurses in human health care, RVTs are the doctor’s right hand. They can perform physical examinations, administer medications, manage hospitalized patients, run anesthesia, collect and interpret laboratory samples, and triage emergency cases.

RVT’s in Canada are not licensed to diagnose, create treatment plans, prescribe medications, or perform surgery.

• Vaccinations

• Deworming

• Administration of IV, IM, Ocular, and oral medications

• Bandage changes

• Wound cleaning

• Suture removal

• Scratches treatment

• Blood draws or sample collection
